Endless Night
Depression

                             Existence’s day, persistent stay,
clasping the hand, most endless night.
Heed the head shift hacking away,
                             faithful deceased, grievous plight.

Slumber the days, the bed of dread,
                             wishing upon the last heartbeat.
Food for the worms to keep well fed
gobbled while sleep, the (w)hole so deep.

                             Life without, eternity’s all,
                             laughter folded within the cry.
                             Unthinkingly … the stealthy fall,
                             O’fate, O’fate, timeless demise.

                             Reaching hands and cowering back,
attempted touch, be done with it.
                             Rolling over clutching the black,
endless hours … wanting to quit.

Exit the stage, end of the show,
                             echoing jeers on lingering.
Performed in view, nothing to know,
                             now howling and fingering.

Broken stood with the token man,
                             wanting death, letting it happen.
Remorse of course was not the plan,
and now such forces with dread dampen.
