I see them together.
Walking hand in hand,
practically gliding,
down the crowded sidewalk.
Their fingers gently entwined,
yet securely clasped,
they walk so close to each other
that they almost appear as one.
It's apparent to me
immediately,
that they are in
their own little world
and I can't help but stare.
He's not even paying attention
to what's in front of him.
He stumbles, almost knocking over
a large garbage can.
He can't seem to take his eyes
from her glowing face
long enough to maneuver past
the simple little obstacles
in front of him
as they continue their walk.
She glistens,
and I can't help but wonder
if her face hurts yet.
She can't stop smiling at him,
not even for a second.
They whisper back and forth,
little murmurs and innuendos.
They giggle every few seconds,
sharing secrets known only to them.
And I look at them
and feel their happiness.
Their togetherness warms
that place inside me
that has been there myself.
I remember exactly how that feels.
I know how precious it is
to feel this way.
To be completely consumed
with passion.
To walk down the street,
completely in a daze,
without a care in the world,
with my loved one at my side.
No one else existing.
And I smile
as I know what I am witnessing.
Love gently blossoming
before my very eyes.
like a rose in mid June,
I see love in full bloom.
