Because I could not stop for Sex- He kindly stopped for me- The Carriage held but just Ourselves- And Sensuality. We slowly drove- He knew no haste- And I threw away- My Chastity and my inhibition too- For his Enormity. We passed the Rational, where foreplay strove- At half-undress - in the moment- We passed the Joys of Lusty Longing- We passed the Conscious Climax. Or rather- he drew inside me- The breasts drew quivering and Thrill- For Only Gossamer, my gown- My wrists, bond by Tulle. (silk) We paused before the orgasm that seemed- A swelling in the Groin- The Lust was plainly visible- The Release - from the Loins. Since then - 'tis Decades - and yet- Feels shorter than the Day- I first surmised the Lover's Head- Taking away Virginity. - I wrote this for a literature course that dealt with the erotica and metaphysical nature of Emily Dickinson's poetry and felt the need to share it. Think of it as a piece of "fanfiction" for such a terrific poet.
