To Sing of His Quest
A personal journey; a goal; hope. |
| To Sing of His Quest by Lane Diamond September 20, 2007 Count: 10-10-10-10 The breath of yearning filled his hopeful heart, While troubled mind threw dreams of great despair. The heft of learning promised a new start, Great words in kind do offer him repair. Rain upon the window beckons of night, While shadows swing from floor to darkened walls. Stain upon the pillow reckons his fright, Yet day glows fling the more what does appall. With soul and with sight he’s sworn to atone, A new day does yawn to sing of his quest. The whole of his might is worn to the bone, A new way must dawn to bring out his best. With chapter and verse he drives the story, And the light ascends in the dark lit hall. With laughter so terse he strives on hoary, He is right to mend during hark and call. The tower of ill darkens and desponds, And fear runs wild in the crush of mind. The power of will harkens a response, And cheer like child he rushes to find. The songs lay silent on his ears and skin, Yet music in his heart is never stilled. The throngs are tyrants when the tears begin, Yet rubric is his start to be fulfilled. Twilight brings anew the dreams and the fire, To mend and heal what stole from him his best. Daylight sings anew the flames of desire, And lends with zeal a goal to meet his quest. Awarded as "The BEST of Rising Stars!" |
