JUST BRING A ROSE
I took her a rose on this rainy day, Placed it on the stone where her body lay. I know that Heaven is now her new home But by her grave, I don’t feel so alone. Seven months and ten days she’s been away, Yet seems she was with me just yesterday. Over forty six years we were as one, Now the feeling of loss blots out the sun. I don’t know how I can keep going on, Living in this darkness since she has gone. The world keeps on turning, grass is still green, How can this be? I’m caught here in between. All things should have changed since she went away, Yet it still rains - another rose today. When morning comes, if I’m no longer here, I would ask no one shed even one tear. We will be walking once more hand in hand, In time eternal and all will be grand. As the time passes and fast by it goes, If you would do something – just bring a rose. 9/13/08 ![]()
