Ripples In A Pool
Love was made to touch our hearts
Like ripples in a pool,
A comfort sent to those in need
When fate seems harsh and cruel.
A kindly word, a gentle hand,
Will spread the love around.
We pass our strength and faith to those
Whose loss is so profound.
To know our loved one's in a place
Where pain and fear are gone,
Is balm upon the wounded heart
And helps us to move on.
For only those who've suffered loss
Can know our heartache sore,
And help us make our memories
A lasting treasure-store.
So share your grief and weep your tears
Until the smiles return,
Then reach out to console a friend,
And hearts will grow and learn.
Dedicated to my dear friend Pam, our Veterinary Surgeon, who inspired me to write this poem.
