a quiet hush gathers lovers
lifetime partners
sharing daydreams

a gentle breeze shifts those moonbeams
yet your eyes gleam
in turquoise smiles

in a café we wait a while
the crowd beguiles
sharing good cheer

their voices roar, we only hear
the faintest fear
for life as one

we leave, vanish in autumn’s fun,
laughing, we run
as children do

innocence lights our hearts, and two
souls melt into blues
without the sadness

an early frost brings a white dress
and a promise
of lasting grace

anticipation, like fine lace
your tight embrace
the passing time
