Bottled Up
I hear her crying, yet again, the unshed tears of yesterday. Her muffled sobs gnaw on my heart exposing pain I'd stashed away. She's restless like a stormy sky with pent up anger left unscreamed. She is the guilt of secrets kept that lie beneath her tumbled dreams. She's shattered childhood innocence amidst unspoken memories. She's stifled sighs in wistful eyes; the breath of hidden fantasies. She is the song of gypsy soul with appetite for wanderlust. And with a dash of broken heart, there's certain truth she cannot trust. All bottled up and tightly corked, these bits of me I can't forgive. I hear her crying, yet again; that other me that never lived.
