The World Shaken
A poem about an event that nearly tore my family apart.

Who were you thinking about, when you threw away our trust?

Forgot your family, given over to your lust

Were you thinking about you... or about us?

Who was she, and how did this come to be

This event that nearly caused the world to end for me

How could you do this to the woman you love?

The one who puts you first, above

I'm starting to forgive

Though I'll never forget

Because I need to live

And I know you feel regret

I forgive because I love you

And I know you do too

But next time think more closely, about the things you do

I'm scarred, but healing

Though never will it go away, this feeling

Always suspicious and on guard, though wanting to trust

But I want to forgive, and I must!

So here I write this now

Sharing my feelings

About how

On that day, my world seemed to end

But since then, things are beginning to mend

And I want you to know, that no matter what you've done or do,

I'll always love you.
