Omelet
I was making an omelet last night. You creep into my thoughts at the unlikeliest times!

Omelet

Was it not you who egged me on?
Enticing me with whispered promises
Promises fallen flat on the ground

Wasn’t it you who slowly cracked me
Peeling away my dread of love’s sweet reprisal?
Heart cracked like shells beneath your shoe

Wasn’t it you who stirred me,
Awakening dormant senses from slumber?
Senses roused, then crushed at your feet

Wasn’t it you who peeled away
What crumbling resistance I had for you?
Resistance gone, I cried in defeat

Wasn’t it you who whipped my essence
A frenzied assault on all that I was?
My very being folding before you

Was it not you who egged me on?
To believe the words spilt from your lips
Lips which kissed as your ties unwound
