Beastie Wicked
Monsters are all wicked, and all are beasties.

Scaly feet ‘neath knobby knees,
Claws which clack on heavy door;
Eyes on stalks with tiny fleas,
Tongue which drags upon the floor.

Beastie wicked, I see you there,
Flames of hunger within your pate.
Beastie wicked, I hear your dare,
My bones run swift across your plate.

Bristled stubs sprout from your spine,
Black warts ooze poison ichor,
One brush again’, and I’m supine,
Fetid jaws my bones devour.

Beastie wicked, I see you there,
Your time to catch me running low,
Beastie wicked, I hear your dare,
The sun’ll rise, and you’re too slow.

Rooster’s crow marks coming dawn,
You’re too late, and I’m long gone.
