I am most grateful to the MOST HIGH for giving me the gift of writing, the gift of singing, the gift of being friendly, the gift of understanding, and many more countless blessings.

Today, I am going to share with you something I learned as well as I master. I  passed this gift to my daughter who is excellent in public speaking that made her represent our country, the Philippines, in an international convention held in Europe as one of the speakers about Human Rights. She was invited twice in Germany,
and Belgium. She also traveled to all key cities of our country as a speaker on a particular topic but mostly on women's and children's rights.

Writing.Com is a very big community, it is possible that high percentage of its members are well verse in what I am going to share, but to those of you who are still young and inexperienced in giving speeches or sooner will be giving corporate presentations or seminars, then this is for you, with my main goal of SHARING.

Here we go !

Experienced speakers usually use several types of speech outlines. Here is an outline that contains three main
points :

A.  OPENING

    1.  Capture the audience attention.
    2.  Leads into the speech topic.

B.  BODY

    1.  First Point
          a.  Statement of fact
          b.  Supporting material

    2.  Second Point
          a.  Statement of fact
          b.  Supporting material

    3.  Third Point
          a.  Statement of fact
          b.  Supporting material

C.  CONCLUSION

          1.  Review of summary
          2.  Call to action or memorable statement

How To Prepare An Effective Oral Presentation?

1.  Select and limit the subject.

2.  Determine the overall purpose

3.  Analyze the audience and the situation.

4.  Organize the three parts of the presentation.
    (Opening, body and conclusion)

5.  Practice ! Practice ! Practice !

How To Fight Stage Fright?

1) Gain Experience. Experience builds confidence. No experience? Then practice
and practice before you deliver it.

2) Turn nervousness into vitality and enthusiasm.  Believe in yourself. Surely
    you can !

3) Concentrate on your message.
    FOCUS...

4) Preparation
If you are well prepared and have rehearsed your speech you will have more
    confidence and less anxiety.

5)  Speak about what you know. Select speech topics that are within the realm
of your knowledge and experience.  This will build your confidence.

6)  Realize that people want you to succeed.
    This is your great motivation.

7)  Recognize you are not alone.
Because you are not alone and you are the center of attention, do the best
you can, firmly believing you can do the job with flying colors.

8)  Smile !

9)  Start !

In this connection, I have a memorable piece I love to share with you. I wrote this twenty years ago and this was
for my daughter's Valedictory Speech when she graduated First Honors in her elementary education. After many nights of practice, she delivered this speech very well. My daughter was twelve years old at that blissful event.

Valedictory Speech
March 1988

Distinguished guests, Our School Principal, Mrs. Galleosa, Our Grade V1 teacher, Mrs. Gabales,  Dear Faculty Members,  Parents,  Students,  Fellow Graduates, Friends, Ladies and Gentlemen,  A Pleasant Good Afternoon !

Each year small lives come to your doorstep, you discover and draw out progress from every unique personality in your care as they slowly accelerate towards maturity. So when the time to leave arrives the lives have grown in every aspect to enormous proportions and dimensions, just as what have happened to us.

At long last !  We've trekked through, reaped from the multitudes of demands that has emerged from a challenging phase of toil and study. EDUCATION, favored with prayers and steadfast efforts though, has earned for
us rewards: OUR DIPLOMAS !  What a triumphant experience indeed for us graduates.

A humble achievement knowingly the best gifts there are for you dear parents and mentors, yet we ultimately see ourselves grow more behind it as the real gifts, loved, nurtured, kneaded all these years, till we marched out
into view, armoured to face rapid changes, increasingly open to society and human needs willed to assure obligations or to risk life's roads.

"WHATEVER ABIDES IN ME,  BEARS MUCH FRUIT" JOHN 15:5
I  N  S  P  I  R  I  N  G !

Needless to say we are apt to highly remember every bit of the good unfoldings in the past which have been and
will be a source of shared visions of hope, to strive for better goals, to dedicate service, to sow love.

Looking back at what had been,  we could not suppress a sigh of sadness. It has all been so fast. Everything
we have shared all these years:  the laughters, the tears, the apprehensions, the toils, the reprimands, the cheers and every single things you have taught us enriched our lives that we get to emerge each day as a person.
single thing you have taught us enriched our lives that we get to emerge each

Recalling our achievements, we have you to thank for helping us travel this far. But, we know it is not far enough,  for we will or still have to seek for more to achieve a lot greater things to make us the mature Christian persons that we want to be, that you would like us to be.

We only have a vague vision of what is ahead, of the many challenges that shall befall us. But, we should keep on
going, for we are the possessors of your history, your dreams, your heritage, your very own life. WE ARE READY !

If there is one thing that need saying it is "THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH ! "
Yes, words never can suffice our expression of gratitude to selfless persons who never cease to be with confidence, thus we uphold you and our ALMA MATER in whose continuing earthly mission has the right to be CONGRATULATED.

Fellow Graduates,  MABUHAY !

(My daughter is now a lawyer and is enjoying in her chosen field. She told me that this piece I wrote for Valedictory Speech is always for her, a Jewel
Beyond Price.
I am truly blessed and I PRAISE THE LORD )

This is intentionally written here at Writing.Com as a documentary and most of all for the purpose of SHARING.

Greetings to one and all !
