Shag Bark Pruning
The hickory will drop its seed astray, the overstatement of its need to splay. A nut will fall and then will ricochet, and make a mess upon my deck today. A while ago I would have chopped the tree, It would have been a fait accompli, but form and meter always disagree, and thus the tree is not an amputee. And up above the mess that it has made, the birds and squirrels carry on their trade. We like the lovely way it gives us shade, so let the tree mess up our promenade! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Other protests against form and meter are included in: "We have a Write to Escape" ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The poetry philosophy I espouse is located at: "Multivalence"
