Same bat-time and same bat-channel;
Every week the Network Panel
Gave us Batman on TV –
Our boob-tubes tuned to ABC.

Adam West and young Burt Ward
Fought evil villains we adored –
With cliffhangers they made us wait.
For several days – we feared their fate…

………………………………………………………………………………

“Hi, Chief O'Hara? Batman here.
The Penguin’s on the loose, I fear
and Gotham City’s where he’ll head
but we’ll be there one step ahead!”

“To the bat cave, Dick! Slide down the pole.
The Penguin’s out, he’s on parole
with trick umbrellas – nasty cruds.
To the Batmobile! Let’s catch some thugs!”

“Geeze! Holy Hissing! What was that?
Well Holy Leak!  We’ve got a flat!
We need to pause and change the spare
And make a speedy bat-repair.”

“Waac! Waac! Waac! Waac!  Go get ‘em, boys!
Stay low and quiet – make no noise…
We’ll stop ‘em cold.  Quick! Grab the net!
We’ve got ‘em now without a fret.”

“Hey, Batman! Geepers! I can’t move!
Can’t reach my belt… it might behoove
you to release your hidden blade!
I wish we had a Bat-Grenade…

“Can’t reach it, Robin!  Darn the luck!
The net’s too tight!  My hands are stuck!”

“Oh, Holy Quandaries! Here they come!
It’s Penguin with his loser chums!”

“Waac! Waac! Waac! Waac!  You’re in my trap!
And soon your necks are gonna snap!
We’ve done it, boys – let’s head on out;
they’re cornered – done for – there’s no doubt!”

“Please! Batman!  Get us out of this!
Gosh, Holy Doomsday! I will miss
Aunt Harriet; Dick Grayson’s life!
I sure wish you could reach your knife!”

………………………………………………………………………………

So are the Masked Crusaders doomed?
And will their bodies be entombed?
Find out next week with another rhyme;
Same bat-channel and same bat-time.
