T’e loas, t’ey listen to a bit o’ rum
an' a cigar-blown belief o’ revenge. Split a chicken, spill some blood, an' fait’ yeh way to yeh avenge. T’e dance, it take yeh spirit an’ give it back lateh, t’e durin’ is t’e freedom pat’, an' t’e while yeh’s soul is burnin’. “Ride t’e horse”, t’ey cry as drum an' flame swirl and pound, teeth full o’ glass. Yeh wake on t’e groun’, no pain no fear no shame. T’e joy o’ carryin’ loa stamped fresh. Twirl an' cry out, t’e flames answer t’e prayer. Fait’ in spirit an' smoke, an' know t’e loa’s t’e player.
