Paraphernalia and preparation Rigid notation, moon’s rotation Measured summoned incantation Images flicker through burning mind Endless path through maze to find Monstrous shapes pursue behind Sweat swells to rim in shining beads Fear of unknown on itself feeds Memories mount of past misdeeds Pitiful and puny display of arms Surrounded by philters and charms Stillness pierced by strident alarms Morning sun dances in eyes Night whiled away in wild surmise Is today the assessment surprise?
