Mon Mari
Pieces Torn from me Scattered in the bitter winds of Uncertainty Disillusioned In Pain Swirled like snowflakes in the perpetual winter of my life. Then you came A warm and colorful Cézanne in relief of what I had become. You rotated my world away from Winter’s cold grasp I reveled in the warmth of my first Spring. Your Love carried on lavender-scented air with a hint of wild thyme and the sea was the magnet that drew me, all my fragments, To You In your presence I grew Whole again. Note: Written for Poetry Basics & Beyond, Lesson One. Prompt: Write a free verse poem about someone or something you love; include imagery inspired by (some or all) the five senses.
