YOUR THOUGHTS


Far from you in lonely night,
As my memories rally,
I feel as if a spirit
Pervades yet in this valley.

We had walked together once
The paths of love, you and I.
Those paths lie there as such, yet,
Looking at them I feel shy.

It’s a long time since you left
But I can yet hear your call.
You do exist for me as
The songs of past I recall.

Though you are not by my side,
Your lyrics ring in my ear.
Your memories are my life.
Their loss is what I so fear.

May you rest in serene peace,
Wherever you may be now.
I won’t call or disturb you.
I feel you’re with me somehow.

२२७. सुनसान रातें, तन्हाई का आलम, तुम्हारी मुझे आज याद आ रही है


सुनसान रातें, तन्हाई का आलम, तुम्हारी मुझे आज याद आ रही है
लगता है जैसे वादी की ठंडी हवाओं में रूह कोई मंडरा रही है

था वक्त कोई, हम तुम चले थे रख के कदम प्यार के रास्तों पर
वो रास्ते तो वहीं पर पड़े हैं, उनसे नज़र आज कतरा रही है

हुये हैं बहुत दिन, गये ज़िंदगी से, सदाएं तुम्हारी मग़र आ रहीं हैं
तुम हो हकीकत ऐसी जो हर दम नग़मा-ए-माज़ी दोहरा रही है

तुम तो नहीं हो मेरे पास लेकिन तुम्हारे तराने अभी भी जवां हैं
यादों का आलम न बिखरे कभी ये, ये सोच फ़ितरत घबरा रही है

जिस हाल में हो, जहां हो, रहो ख़ुश, अब न ख़लिश कोई आवाज़ देंगे
तुम दूर हमसे कभी भी नहीं हो, हर सांस अहसास करवा रही है.
