Freedom from Religion
A poem about the reality of a relationship with Jesus and God the Father

Religion is a bondage meant to ensnare
the hapless person with a load of care.
Give a thought a title it becomes a fact
People gather round it to make a pact
When the fact is proven to be untrue,
those ensnared hang on without a clue.
Religion is a concept in the mind of man
to keep him separated in his little clan.

But God…

He didn’t send His Son to start a sect
He came to live, die and resurrect
to bring salvation’s hope to you and me
so that from religion we would be free.
Rules and regs a plenty in the land
but just one thing does God command.
Believe that He loves us and sent His Son
to be the messiah for everyone.
