My Loss
Pain in living

As I heard him crying softly
in his sleep last night.
I left his door stand open
after shutting off his light.

The pain he had to bear
was just to much for me.
All he ever wanted
was his pain to be set free.

I saw the swish of angels wings
just a glimmer in the night.
An angel took him by the hand
holding him so tight.

I stood ever so quietly
just beyond the door.
Knowing that my son
would feel the pain no more.
