I’ve had
the weight of the world pressing, squeezing, driving down upon me for so long. That bulk, The weight of a heavy heart Dragging, wrenching, Pulling at a weary soul For too long. A chip Weighs down my shoulders Urging, goading, Forcing my knees to the ground For so very long. Down there With the weight of a broken heart Crumbling, caving, Collapsing in silence around me, For far too long. I realize This weight is not impossible to bear Pressing, striving, Driving myself upward, I stand again Though it took so very long.
