This Candle That I Burn
Lost in knowing that he will be gone, watching him leave with sword and shield. Sadly missing the comfort of his arms, but his fate had long ago been sealed. He will fight for this country that he loves, for he's a knight that will not burn in shame. He would die for what he believes in, along with the many warriors that feel the same. I will light this long white candle, in hopes that it will guide him back to me. I pray for my love to return soon, in hopes that a victory will set him free. A cascade of tears now swiftly fall, from eyes that hold the love we share. My heart drowning with pain filled sorrow, for life without him I could not bare. I now lovingly caress my stomach, it holds our unborn child we conceived in love. I wish him to return to my wanting arms, upon the many stars that shine from above.
