Choose one of the "20 Ways To Get Plot Ideas" and brainstorm for a new idea that could be developed into a story plot. I am not looking for an entire written story, or even a well developed plot, just your general story idea. Simply write a paragraph elaborating on the idea you came up with.

Evralia is about 19 and living in a quiet little town called Selega. She lives with her mother, father, and a sister. She has been experimenting in the magical arts most of her life and has received a lot of ridicule as a result. The villagers come together and run Evralia out of town. She travels for a few days to an inn where she enacts revenge against her family.

Method: Character First
I've used this method many times in the past and found it to be an excellent way to start a story. Some of my best stories started with a character. In fact my novel Amulet of Zalia which I'm still working on finishing, was born from the idea of my main character Atalyn and the wish that there were more fantasy books with unicorns in them.
