God Answers
A simple poem about a complex truth that God answers every time

My cries to You go not unheard
for You have heeded every word
and responded with answer clear:
it was my part to stop and hear.

From creation of earth and sea,
Your reply has been there for me
awaiting my believing prayer
although I stayed unaware.

If I was deaf in mind and heart,
it wasn’t Your failure to impart
the Words to bring me back to life
and overcome anguish and strife.

I’ve prayed and run and hid away
fearing You would not look my way.
I should have stood and held my ground
‘til I heard Your immortal sound.

Now I turn my ears towards You,
and listen for a Word that’s true,
knowing You have answered clear;
It is my part to stay and hear.

Author's side note:

From age to age, You’re still the same
for all who come in Jesus name.
They are the ones who will be saved,
and freed from being worldly slaves.
