Singing monks splashed yellow and red paint over the huge stone Buddhas. Behind them, the Himalayas glowed blue-white in the early morning sunshine. "Sir, careful of paint, sir," said someone. "Are they singing Tibetan prayers?" I asked. The monk laughed. "Is love song from Bollywood movie only, sir." I'm sure the Buddhas didn't mind.
