Autumn Breezes We walk along a path, the trees a maze As Autumn leaves, they crunch beneath our feet. I live for this – the colors, shorter days – Reminds me of the times we’d sneak to meet. I’d count the steps to find that special spot – You’d be there with a blanket, big and warm. Your lips, your tight embrace was all I sought And once we even loved to Nature’s storm. I press my face against your soft, cool coat, Your arm around me tight to fight the chill. I look to find the letters carved – a note, Remember getting caught? The high? The thrill? We stand here in this place, the mem'ries strong As Autumn breezes whisper of the past... Our love, it grew from something shunned, so wrong - The world, they know you’re mine at long, long last.
