The 4th take of the outline for Pirate Girl

Outline, fourth draft. Start to build the middle.

Part One:
         I. England
                   a. Elizabeth Darby is the only child of the Earl of Derby
                             1. not really spoiled—raised by nurses, nannies, and tutors
                             2. mother died in childbirth
                   b. her father names a distant cousin as heir
                             1. father doesn't believe that a girl can control a shire
                   c. plans to send his daughter to the nunnery
                   d. Elizabeth gathers inheritance left by mother and great-aunt
                   e. Elizabeth disguises self as Matthew Darby (a distant recluse cousin about her age) and takes ship from Liverpool (check this) to Antigua (check this--temporary choice)
         II. Caribbean Sea
                   a. five days (give or take) from before landfall, the ship is attacked by pirates--Elizabeth (as Matthew) is captured
                             1. Elizabeth/Matthew given the choice of joining the pirates or being killed
                   b. James Torrington aka the Wild Irish Rogue, the captain, befriends Elizabeth not knowing she is female
                   c. James discovers that Elizabeth is a girl (still no idea how long she managed to hide it)
                             1. Ideas for ways he discovered:
                                       A. she falls into the water
                                       B. she's wounded
                                       C. she confesses due to female problems
                   d. Elizabeth had been assisting in planning and carrying out the raids before this and James decides that her mind is worth more than turning her over to the others for punishment for deceiving him
                             1. still he needs to punish her somehow and only Riordan—who James really trusts—is let in on the secret at first
                   e. with Elizabeth planning raids and James executing them, the pirates begin to step up operations

Part Two
         I. Caribbean Sea--A few years later
                   a. Elizabeth now captain of record of ??????, the pirate ship
                   b. group is among the most feared in the Caribbean
                   c. James and Elizabeth are now lovers (have been for a few years)
                   d. Elizabeth plants James aboard ships; he gathers info; then passes it on to Elizabeth (posing as a doxy) in port
                   e. the pirates than attack the ship
                             1. insert "Pirate Booty" here if possible
                                       Add at least three raids of different types
                                                 -James planted aboard a ship
                                                 -Elizabeth, as doxy, luring a captain astray
                                                 -straight out attack
                                                 --make sure to describe what life is like aboard both the ship and land
                                                           Paradise Cove goes here
                                                 --raid time
                                                 --down time
                                                 --specifially focus on James and Elizabeth, but don't forget Riordan or Abe
                                       interaction with Navy--British? Spanish?
                                                 Does Elizabeth speak another language? --if yes, which ones?

Part Three
         I. Caribbean Sea
                   a. Elizabeth is accosted on shore by a man in a Royal Navy uniform
                   b. she believes the man is attempting to arrest her
                   c. he isn't; he's actually one of her cousins bearing news that both her father and his heir are dead
                   d. he is attempting to locate Elizabeth and bring her home to England
         II. England
                   a. Elizabeth makes the decision to leave the pirates and return home
                   b. she is happy to be home, but misses James
                   c. as much as she misses him, she has no desire to return
         III. Caribbean Sea
                   a. James is also cranky and missing her
                   b. James makes the decision to go to England to see Elizabeth
         IV. England
                   a. James and Elizabeth confront each other
