TREE MUSIC

A gentle zephyr
Flutters yellow Aspen leaves;
Golden Medalions shimmering
From their ash-white
And black display hooks.
Their music so soft next to
Their neighbor pines and maples.
The fingers of the cool breeze
Strum the Aspen's chords,
Creating the papery, tinkling music.

The green needles
In the stand of pines
Accompany with brushing timpani;
A light whooshing and stuttering.

The large crisp leaves
In the deciduous grove
Create with the wind a louder music;
A rustling, pleasant scraping, expressing
A more urgent, hurried timbre and tempo.

The symphony of Autumn trees
Has been ever-present when the wind
Plays Conductor
We just need to pause,
And listen.
