LINGERING MEMORIES
So many years have rolled by, Your memory lingers. Forever you’re in my heart, Now it is but cinders. Once I too sang songs of joy And love was my refrain. Those days are gone forever, Not to return again. You are alive in my songs; Your thoughts are all around. Through my poetry once more Your company I’ve found. You linger in my poems And in their wailing tune, As I call you through dark nights Bereft of stars or moon. * Written in abcb 7-6-7-6 format * Initially written as entry no. 371325 in the book MY POETRY BOOK, "MY POETRY BOOK" M C Gupta 7 September 2005
