When i met you, not too long ago
I knew you then, as neither friend nor foe
You were my companion, and together we move
I was the body, you, were the groove

As i grew you became a friend
One i could count on to never end
You showed me forever was not all that long
You taught me the lesson that you are never wrong

They told me i would leave you, and you would go on
I told them never, knowing one day i will be gone
You will exist as you always have
In the future, in the present, in the past
