Take a moment to stop and pray, even if there’s no time to spare. Your life will be better that way. When your mind and thoughts go astray and confusion is everywhere, take a moment to stop and pray Let God bring order to your day and take away all the despair. Your life will be better that way. When you’re met with constant delay and the wait has rubbed your nerves bare; take a moment to stop and pray If you’ll continually stay in contact with God through your prayer, your life will be better that way. Each day of your life come what may, cast on the Lord all of your care. Take a moment to stop and pray; your life will be better that way. Copyright © 2006 by Karen M. Crump Author’s Note: A Villanelle is a nineteen-line poem consisting of a very specific rhyming scheme: aba aba aba aba aba abaa. The first and the third lines in the first stanza are repeated in alternating order throughout the poem, and appear together in the last couplet (last two lines).
