In my sweater I shiver,
The cold whispers of Winter Climb in bed it says A cold sharper and cleaner than it ought be Then gone. A lady rakes some leaves "Ssh!" They say, "Ssh!" As a fractious child Ready to sleep When all are still about. A tree showers me with leaves Twisting and turning in the wind As she gentles her restless friend Also ready To sleep. Hush and walk softly You will wake the world As it tries to sleep Pull up your blankets And slumber along.
