Write a story with me

Tell me a story, I pray to my Creator.
I wait, still fingers resting on the black keys.
My mind is empty, white canvas, the screen,
ready to record the words given to me.

What shall I say through my keystrokes?
What do you want the world to know?
Speak to me, Creator, if you're still there
I’m eager to hear the stories you'll share.

As I listen to the clicking beat of the keys,
the cadence of fingertips in idle chat,
I hear a voice from somewhere inside
whispering your sage words of advice.

You must listen to hear me.
You must write my words to see.
You must dream to feel my guidance.
You must be comfortable with silence.

Through your thoughts, I can speak.
Through your fingers, I create.
Through your dreams, I will guide
but you, my child, must write.

For I am there but often quiet,
eager to see what you'll create
but if there’s something you need to hear,
I just might whisper some words in your ear.

So listen carefully, work, live, and dream.
Keep on writing what you believe.
And if you don't hear me, my words must have leaked
straight through your fingers and onto the screen.

Don’t doubt I am present when fingers are still.
You're on the right path, I have no critique.
Be ready to write, for your words I hold dear.
What we'll create together, the world needs to hear.

So I sit tapping keys in an effort to find a
moment of silence through the noise of my mind.
I pray, with the words that appear on the screen,
for the Creator to come write a story with me.
