ONCE THERE WAS A TURKEY
Once there was a turkey as wise as one could be, Each year at Thanksgiving he’d pretend he couldn’t see. When someone came to buy one for that yearly meal, He would stumble - evade the agriculture seal. No one wanted a blind bird, must be very old, Old meant really tough, at least that was what was told, So old Tom kept his feathers, watched all his friends leave, Too soon time passed him by and he began to grieve. All the other turkeys were now younger than he. The reason for my story, I hope you can see, The moral simply being, it’s hard to go on, When you're the old turkey and your friends are gone. 11/19/08 ![]()
