The Other Woman
sometimes you just can't tell

I should've seen the signs.
Things were going so well;
I had the time of my life.

He was everything
I thought a man should be-
Almost everything.

He was sweet and kind;
we would talk for hours.
He was far too nice.

That should have been a clue.
I didn't ask questions;
I was totally blind.

I thought he loved me;
I loved him dearly.
Now the truth comes out.

There's someone else.
How did I miss it?
He was cunning,

clever and deceitful.
I didn't see it coming.
I never thought I'd see the day.

He cheated her and me.
But they'll go on-
they made a vow.

I'm left in the cold
wondering how I became
the other woman.
