They asked him to pitch. He terribly wanted to impress them. He threw the ball with all the strength his little hand could muster. The ball flew past the hitter, over the outfield and into the window of the neighbor’s pricey mansion. The children clapped, and roared with laughter. We cannot afford this, he thought.
