SLICE OF PAIN: award winner
Your cheeks are pale, your step does fail, Your hair distraught I find. The tears pacing down your wild face Have left their trail behind. What slice of pain does your heart drain? What steals your peace of mind? Friends, old or new, have betrayed you? Or have they been unkind? Take heart my dear and shed all fear Of a gloomy future. Griefs come and go but life does grow. That’s but human nature. Don’t groom your pain, have your refrain: “This too shall pass one day”. With pains as well as with our gains, This we must learn to stay. • Written in abcb, 8-6-8-6 format * Awarded first prize in "Invalid Item" • Initially written as entry no. 457198 in the book FAITH, NATURE & INSPIRATIONAL, "FAITH, NATURE & INSPIRATIONAL" M C Gupta 26 September 2006
