THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON

On the dark side of the Moon
a moment's pause
calls the scents of life
from raging torments above
to water craters below.

A searchlight crosses undulations dark
calling for understanding to return
from sailings upon open madness
praised by Poseidon's breath.

Across streets hunger blows
butter and grit demand
salted seasonings of moon dust
stirred as whirlwinds court; hand-in-hand.

Ambivalence, a canned spread
excess, a soup sipped from rotting spoons
cultivate thirsts in abundant harvests of
crops of rocks to shuck and suck.

Suffering is play
nurtured by distended bellies
sheltered by crumbling ruins
suckled by mosquito saliva...mother's milk.

Light trips over light in darkness
compassion bleeds no change
gifts still giving passed in sneeze
incurable.

And this day
again, it will be that way
love will again just fly...
away.

And this day
again, will it be that way
flight upon the wings of...
Man's disease.

On the dark side of the Moon.
