Dreams can feel so real; they reveal the deepest of secrets from our past to our desires and our destiny, in just matters of seconds, and other times they reveal the answers.
- Anonymous. (Ruins of the past, Dream) Falling asleep isn’t the easiest part of being a Demon hunter, I’ve learn too except the darkness willingly, if it means to catch seconds or glimpses of my true past. -Cassidy Higgins Standing in a dark room filled with books wall to wall Cassidy realized she was in a study, there’s was a crack of light coming from the double doors ahead. Cassidy made her way to the doors and peered through the opening crack. There sleeping close to a fire place was a small child. “She’s just a child...I...I can’t leave her alone,” an angelic women’s voice projected to where Cassidy stood, “you have no choice, she’ll be safe here, you know I’ll protect her as if she’s my own” it was a man’s voice. They were in the room as well their backs toward Cassidy. The women knelt down to touch the child’s hair and gave her a kiss on the head; she whispered something into the child’s ear. The angelic women looked back up to the standing man, and said “I trust you Gabriel; I know you will protect my baby from the dangers that lay ahead for her.” “Of course twin, she is part of you.” He looked away from her and Cassidy caught a glimpse of the man’s face he was young, with dark blonde hair and strong features with dark blue eyes that sparkled. “You must hurry time is running out” the man named Gabriel urged her. The angelic women got back up, and that was when Cassidy saw her face true beauty lit up by light that seemed to surround her. She was dressed in all black Demon hunter gear, Cassidy realized. The women’s hair was light blond and was pulled back, her blue eyes sparkling more bright blue then her twin. She wore a red ruby around her neck with a Demon hunter sword on her back. She seemed like an Angle more than a Demon hunter, Cassidy noted. The women walked over to where Gabriel stood and gave him a hug, then said “It is you that must hurry and take Chassidy away from here, battle will start soon.” She starts to walk away when the man named Gabriel place’s a hand on her arm, and says. “Good bye my twin, you are one of God’s Favored Royal, you are The Alexandria the protector of mankind, let’s prey we meet again here at Concave.” He let go, and Alexandria nodded with a smile, and continued to walk toward the main door. “Mother”, Cassidy whispered, still standing in the dark study watching her mother walk away from the crack in the door way. BEEP, BEEP, BEEP. The clock read a quarter to six. Cassidy reached over and click the snooze button; she desperately wanted to keep sleeping, to find out what happens next in her dream. “Wake up Cassie” Chase said, barging into her dorm. “Ugh, Chase 5 more minutes” Cassidy said with a sleepy sigh. “No way, wake your butt up Cassie, it’s almost a quarter to 6”, Chase said, already pulling the sheets from her. “You’ve got to be kidding me, Chase its only Saturday” Cassidy who was already cranky. “What you think Demons wait on your time.” Chase said sarcastically. “Waite I thought you called yourself almighty Cassidy Higgins, ready to kick some Demon butt any time of day.” And with that remark Cassidy got out of bed, and headed to the bathroom and shut the door on Chase’s ramblings. She changed into her training gear, a black tank top, with beige short shorts, with killer black running boots. Her dark blonde hair pulled back into a usual pony tail. “Aw don’t you look, peachy today; here I figured you’d need a cup of coffee.” Chase handed it to Cassidy. She took a sip “yummy, thanks I needed this.” They both headed off toward the training grounds in on the East side of the Institute. The Sevenfold Institute is just one of the places for training Demon hunters. It’s ruled by the Elders some of God’s most Royal Angles who teach the highest study of Demon slaying. There’s a North, East, and West wing to the Institute. The institute was built to destroy the grueling Demons who oppose harm to the humans; many trained Demon hunters are assigned their first assignment to level 1 Demons on their own or are assigned partners. ************************************************************************************************************************** “So you want to start with swords or kicks, I’ll let you decide just to make it easier”, Chase said acting cocky. He reached over the rack for an Elders Sword. “Ha, let’s see if I...I Chase Collins “the Grand Hunter” can kick the “almighty Cassidy Higgins” butt with an Elders sword.” “Oh, I’m quivering in fear” Cassidy said with a grin on her face. “Chase Collins! Put that away before you hurt yourself.” Elder DH, Ivy said. She was graceful in her attire with black and grey hair, even thou she was one of the oldest Elders she was still one of the wickest sword fighters. She’s killed more Demons then all the Elders combined, and have been in many battles it’s why she’s the one who teaches the Sword fights in the first place. “You Collins just gave yourself duty shinning all the Swords in the training facility, you best get to it right away, seeming that it’s Saturday you’ll have free time.” “Yes…Yes Elder Ivy.” Chase stuttered trying to place the weapon back in its case. Cassidy made a giggling noise and caught Elder Ivy’s attention, “don’t let me catch you fooling around, like your partner here.” Cassidy nodded, trying to keep her cool, but wanted to asked a question that she knew out of the entire Elder’s it would be Elder Ivy to know the answer. “Uh, Elder Ivy can I ask you a question?” “Yes, but if it’s to use any of the Elder swords, the answer is no Miss, Higgins you students should know better.” She gave a quick glimpse toward Chase’s direction. “No, no nothing like that, it’s just…I wanted to know if you fought in the Battle of the Golden Gates of Concave?” Elder Ivy looked stricken “What…Concave? Child where did you hear this? The battle of Concave happened long ago, only God’s most Favored did battle; it was to protect mankind from the most powerful of Demons out there. Many Royals died in battle, it was said that those that died made future Demon hunters stronger. Those were dark times Miss, Higgins why do you ask?” “It’s just…” Cassidy didn’t want to explain her dream to Elder Ivy; instead she decided to change the subject. “I heard we have a guest speaker in our next fight session, is that true.” “Now Miss. Higgins I won’t pry, but if it’s really a guest speaker you’re asking for, then no just another rumor to squash. I must get going.” Elder Ivy carried on walking toward the end of the training grounds where she spotted another student messing around with training equipment. Cassidy walked over to where Chase was, he was getting the shining tools for the blades. “So… I’m going to go check out the Institutes media history, you’ll be fine working on all this” Cassidy pointed to the rows of racks of swords. “What? I thought you’d help, and what’s in the media history you’re looking for huh?” Chase said with specious eyes. “Oh, nothing just studies I need to catch up on.” Cassidy hated lying to Chase; he was like family to her, but she couldn’t tell him about her latest dream just yet. “Besides…you’re Chase Collins “the Great Hunter”, you shouldn’t have a problem with all this shinning duty.” Cassidy said laughing, while walking away. “Sure, sure laugh now, but you’re the one that's gonna be asking me to shine your blades to its perfection.” Chase called out as Cassidy left the training grounds.
