A short poem I created about a year ago, rather grisly but I would love some feedback!
It's hard to escape from an enemy who lives inside your head
Stone cold, a moan of despair
Mind-rocking screams, the voices of the dead
You can't hide, nor run away
Pray, my child, for the light of day

Rot-ridden faces, gouged-out eyes
Dirt-crusted ensemble, flesh peeled away
Patches of hair eroded asunder
These carrion lurching behind your eyes
Are imprinted forever, ne'er to evanesce

Enemies manifold, none of them there
All to anguish the mind, always unseen
Except for inside the head, behind the eyes
Howls of the insane, resonating therein
You'll never escape, you're its prey 'till the end
