I DO NOT WISH TO BE KNOWN: award winner
Why should anyone know me? Please do leave me alone. I am so ordinary. For what should I be known? When troubled, none walked with me, And none gave me solace. I suffered in silence and From all I hid my face. Now this journey is over. As I await my end, In order to look pretty, I don’t have to pretend. I am important for none. Why the rest of the world Should be concerned about me? Why should I spread my word? I do not wish to be known. I’m counting final days. I just want to extricate Myself from worldly maze. * Written in abcb 7-6-7-6 format * Initially written as entry no. 357826 in the book MISCELLANEA , "MISCELLANEA" * Awarded Honorable Mention Prize in Picky Poetry Contest, second round, "Invalid Item" M C Gupta 5 July 2005
