Beneath 2008

Unforgiven hurt beneath skin begins,
Thoughts scattered blown in wind.
Exhausted from fighting trying to live,
If I compromise I’ll lose once again.
Dooming heartbreak this poison gives,
Heavy this weight I carry within.
Constant punches hit my chin.
I’m so lonely succumbed to despair.
Overflow my cup it’s spilling tears.
A silver lining not found anywhere,
It’s suffocating and bringing fears.
Hiding for safety I’m shaking scared.
Life’s a nightmare the stabbing severe,
My breathing pauses thumps I hear.
Shadows tear across walls once bare.
An enemy present alone I have to face,
Battling constant for protected space.
Beating and bruising upon me they place.
Principles and loyalty they’ve misplaced.
I never dreamt of treatment displayed
All my skin they’ve ripped off and away
My screams inside have escaped and say.
Justice please come will you save me today.
