In the inner sanctuary, peace I do find there; where the clouds are parted, and I breathe fresh air. In the renewed spirit, not the soul, is the resting place where I can go to escape this ruthless earthly race. I must escape my soul and its barrage of guilt and theories snd retire to a refuge, when I am worn and weary. The Spirit calls me to enter my God’s own asylum He dwells there within me; I hear His word, “Come.” There in the center of a flesh and bone temple is the place of quiet waters, without a ripple. By streams, He will lead me; no evil I fear. Silence surrounds me, but His message I hear. “Come, sit by still waters and refresh your soul. It’s pounded, bruised, broken and needs to be whole. My Spirit and yours are so intertwined. There is no need for untying: it is all Mine. “What is mine I will care for with all of My Power. I am ever watchful, each minute, each hour. So, sit by the river, then, step into the flow. It will refresh you and cause you to grow. “In growing, you’ll blossom but not like the rose whose blooms are less vibrant the longer it grows. I’ll tend you and prune all the dead barren vines, so you will broach bouquets sweeter than wine.” Copyright © November 30, 2008 by Karen M. Crump .
