The Easy Road
A troubled mind can make bad choices

The Easy Road

So much cannot be seen behind
the storms within her eyes.
Too restless are the winds that churn
the thoughts inside her mind.
Too raging are the tidal waves
that crash throughout her veins.
And deep within her trembling core,
a heart forever rains.

Between a nightmare and a dream
inside her troubled mind,
two paths - one choice - she must decide-
proceed by day or night?
Where wisdom hovers in the wing
in darkness it will hide,
while foolery lies slithering
amidst the bright sunlight.

Within her mind, a fool is born;
she wanders, boldly blind,
and much cannot be seen behind
the stillness of her eyes.
