Christmas Activites
just something that came to me.

The boy sat outside the store

Watching people bustle by

They had packages galore

No one stopped to smile or say hi

He was a shadow unseen

He so wanted to be included

In the Christmas activities

He wanted to help wrap the gifts

Oh how he wished to unwrap them on Christmas morning

But he had nothing

No one to invite him

No one to help him

Put cookies and milk for Santa

No tree to put a star on top of

So he hid in the shadows

And watched them laugh and shop

So many people talked and laughed

Called family on their cell phones

But he went unnoticed

Then a small girl

Approached him

She took his small hand in hers

And led her to her mother

She then said "come join us"

Her mother smiled and nodded

The child was so happy

He followed the girl and her mother

Such a wonderful day

Now he had a chance

To be in a family

Still amazed and shocked

That this small child

Had seen his heart

And called him to her own

Christmas Activities are for all

Look for the child in the shadows

Then invite them in
