I THINK OF YOU
The days have been many and the trials have been long and it seems I had almost forgotten the words to the song that kept me smiling as I walked down the pathway of life; it was easy to succumb to the troubles and ongoing strife. Then I think of you and my heart is filled with such shame. How could I have ever forgotten to remember your name? I think of the times when our world was special and bright and the times that you held me throughout the long night. I depended on others to brighten and inspire my days as I wandered aimlessly, alone in an imperfect haze. The love and trust of a true friend is so hard to replace, memories are something that shadows can never erase. I know that the tears in this message are long overdue but it needs to be said, when I'm alone, I still think of you. I treasure the time that we walked together hand in hand on a beach bathed with moonlight, on soft shifting sand. Now I have grown old and as I lay myself down to sleep, it's the memories that linger and the ones that I'll keep. I think of you... Countrymom 12/7/08 .
