When I am in woods deep and far,
Life is dark, torn and left ajar,
And with the devil I can’t spar,
Let the star guide me.

When selfishness engulfs my heart,
My mind is ruled by cunning art,
The road ahead, I cannot start,
Let the star guide me.

When I have lost the direction,
When for sin I have attraction,
And commit every infraction,
Let the star guide me.

When life is bleak and full of blight,
When I lack the wisdom and might,
Then I know You will give me light.
