Adrenaline was pumping through the monster's veins at an inhuman rate. "How could this be?" the monster thinks to himself, exiled from the one thing he held dear to his heart. Sitting there alone, as always, he sulks in shame. His grotesque hands shake and his thin black lips quiver. Is this sadness? Is it fear? Not a moment later he feels a burning sensation. Now this feeling he knows...anger The once shaky hands now become clenched as tight a a python biting its prey. His quivering lips now become stable once again. Why did my creator do this to me? The thoughts were coming to him more slowly now, at an even pace. The tension was being melted from his muscles. Relax. How can he relax at a time like this? No, this was a time for action, a time for revenge. He must find a creator.
The situation wasn't any easier for the family in the cottage. Felix still was holding the stick firmly in his grasp. "What was that thing?" Felix asked. there was a noticeable tremble in his voice.
"He was a traveler. He said he needed a place to stay. was he threatening to me?"
"He was a monster! If only you could see what he looked like; oh, the terror! Safie ran out of the house in fear. I have yet to see her return."
"Perhaps someone should go look for her." said DeLacey.
"Yes, before the monster gets her!"
"I do not believe the monster was threatening to me, nor do I believe that he would hurt Safie."
"You should have seen him! He surely has the appearance of a monster!"
"Then you should have spoken to him. He has the heart of a gentleman. He was no threat. You were the one that came in here and lost control."
"I am going to look for Safie." Felix says begrudgingly. He walks out of the cottage carrying the stick over his shoulder.
The monster sits still, listening. The calmness of the forest is in complete contrast with his soul. His appearance has planted a seed of doubt into ever human he has come across. His appearance has planted a seed of doubt into every human he has come across. And those seeds of doubt have turned into a forest of fear, forever trapping him. The trees are so high they block out the sunlight. The rivers provide water, but the water is polluted by the anger and judgments of those around him.
The once quiet forest now harbors a growl coming ever closer. What is this new devilry? A test? An enemy? The creature walks out the door toward the sound. A black wolf stands before him. The coat of black is so deep it is as if the night was swallowed into it. 'Come!" the creature bellowed. "You have come to find a meal, and instead you have found a monster. You may believe yourself to be a beast, but I am a more vile creature than you should hope to encounter."
The wolf lunges at the monster. He easily dodges it and spins around to face it from the other side. He then charges the wolf and tackles it to the ground. the wolf snaps at it but the monster easily is able to keep it out of its reach. The wolf's eyes widen as it feels the fingers forming a noose around its neck. The wolf struggles, but not for long. Adrenaline pulses through the monster once more. What is this sensation? The monster opens his lips ever so slightly and says, "Joy."
