Love’s Demise
Absent Love

It’s 2:30 AM
Few cars on the street
Covered with old snow
Frozen like the night.

I sit in despair
In my cold car
And block the view
Into the window.

I wait for the lie
To drive by—
It does,
Now I follow.

The frozen snow
Cracking under my tires—
Far behind- and all the way
To the NOT secret hotel.

He opens the door
And she stays
To early morning
But tells me the lie.

It’s not the first,
One of many
Of the lies
To love’s demise.

I begged for truth
But from the cold,
She was frozen in lies—
Obsessed with him.

So much so
She destroyed,
With no-reason lies,
Her friend.
