My Last Breath
The last breath we draw

My breath was tight
My head felt light
I knew not what to do.
I would rather pray and wait.
For one last glance of you.

But as I faded far away
my hearing still intact.
I distinctly heard you say
"My darling, please come back!"

My soul had left without a trace
I earned my wings that day.
The last words imprinted on my mind
I never could erase.
